Join Anakbayan BC for a community potluck as we commemorate the 39th anniversary of EDSA People Power Revolution.
From February 22 to 25, 1986, millions of Filipinos marched on Manila's main highway, Epifano de los Santos Avenue (EDSA), to demand the end to Ferdinand E. Marcos' tyranny over the Philippines. These events marked the culmination of the Filipino people’s long-fought battle against social injustices, ballooning national debt, corruption, and election fraud under the Marcos dictatorship. It showed the immense power of the Filipino people when united under a common struggle!
We commemorate this occasion to honour and pay respect to those who fought for justice and freedom despite state repression and corruption. While Filipinos continue to suffer today under the nation’s ills of imperialism, bureaucrat capitalism, and feudalism, we must carry on the spirit of the EDSA People Power Revolution by continuing to organize and advocate for the rights of the most oppressed peoples and for a just future!
Reject and resist the US-Marcos fascist regime!
No to historical revisionism!
Activism is not terrorism!
Never again, never forget!
Magkaisa at ituloy ang laban!
