With support from a Heritage Canada grant, this project is a chance to collaborate across cohorts on a continuation of La Libelula’s project Migration Flavours. In this second iteration, the goal is to create an easy way for Solid State cohorts to get paid to spend time working together while meeting members of each others’ extended communities!
This project will consist of 4 community kitchens followed by a final celebration. Each of the four cohorts involved will plan and facilitate one of these events and come together at the end to celebrate the work done to build community.
What is a Community Kitchen?
A Community Kitchen is an opportunity to share stories over the cooking and eating of food! Each cohort will find a storyteller to share a few recipes and stories attached to a meal. A Community Kitchen means everyone who comes takes part in the cooking of the meal. Your cohort and storyteller should be ready with 3 or 4 parts of a meal to prepare including a main course, a salad or appetizer, a dessert, and a drink. Your participants will split into groups in order to prepare each part of the meal. Then they will come together to eat and share stories.
