La Libélula Cooperative is a collective of Spanish speaking immigrants from Latin American with a strong sense of social justice. We work to make our communities visible, connected and engaged through events and placemaking, knowledge sharing and offering consulting services in Spanish and English.

La Libélula Cooperative was born out of our desire to connect with other migrants from Latin America. We began by creating spaces for connection, but were drawn to a number of questions about Latin American communities in British Columbia.

For example: How many are we?  Where are we? What do we do?  What do we want? Who are we?  What brings us together? What do we need?

One thing we know for sure is that none of these questions have simple or singular answers. We know there are many gaps in the information available about Latin American communities living in British Columbia. Through La Libélula Cooperative we want to contribute to conversations about Latin American representation in British Columbia to increase inclusivity and opportunity for Latin Americans living here.
